When does a 50g neck cover make sense?
A 50g neck cover is suitable if your horse needs a little extra warmth at the neck, but a more heavily lined model would be too warm. With its light filling, it provides a slight layer of insulation and is particularly suitable for cooler, changeable weather conditions.
What is the difference between the 0g and the 50g neck cover?
The 0g neck cover primarily offers protection against rain and wind without any additional filling. The 50g version adds light insulation to this weather protection. It is therefore useful if your horse needs not only to stay dry but also to retain some extra warmth at the neck.
When should I use the 250g neck cover instead of the 50g?
The 250g neck cover offers significantly more insulation and warmth, making it suitable for cases where there is a correspondingly higher need for warmth. In contrast, the 50g version is intentionally kept light. Which version is appropriate depends on factors such as clipping, winter coat, housing, wind, wet conditions, and the individual horse.
Does the neck cover need to have the same filling weight as the horse rug?
No. You can specifically adapt the protection at the neck to your horse's needs. For example, a more heavily lined winter rug can be combined with a lighter 50g neck cover if your horse requires more insulation on its body than on its neck.
Can I use the 50g neck cover with different SUNRIDE horse rugs?
Yes. The neck cover can be used with all SUNRIDE turnout rugs and winter rugs. This allows you to combine it with different top rugs depending on the weather, so you do not need a separate neck cover for every rug.
Why does the neck cover have three attachment points for the rug?
The three clips connect the neck cover to the horse rug at several points. As a result, the transition between the neck and the back remains better covered even during movement, and the neck cover is less likely to shift its position.
