Can fly rugs protect against disease? The fly rug not only provides protection against annoying flies, horseflies, and mosquitoes, but also prevents the occurrence of diseases such as hives, which can be transmitted by insects. The right equipment is crucial for maintaining your horse's health and allowing it to enjoy all outdoor activities worry-free.

What is a fly rug, and why does my horse need one?

A fly rug protects your horse from insects and flies, which can be particularly bothersome in the warmer months. It ensures comfort and helps protect the horse from insect bites and potential skin irritation.

What does the "classic cut with gusset" mean?

A gusset in horse rugs is a specially incorporated fold in the shoulder area of the fly rug that provides greater freedom of movement. It consists of an additional fabric insert or an overlapping section of fabric that expands as the horse moves, preventing the fly rug from feeling tight or rubbing at the shoulders. This design allows the horse to move unhindered while walking, grazing, or playing, without the fly rug slipping or restricting them.

Can my horse lie down and roll easily with the fly rug on?

Yes, the fly rug is cut to offer plenty of freedom. The elastic neck area adapts to movement, and the straps ensure that the fly rug stays securely in place and does not slip.

Can my horse sweat under the fly rug?

This fly rug is breathable, allowing moisture to be wicked away so that the horse does not overheat, even during longer periods of wear.

Are the belly straps and leg straps necessary for a better fit?

Yes, the belly straps and detachable leg straps ensure that the elastic fly rug sits securely and does not slip. They prevent the fly rug from billowing in the wind or shifting when the horse moves or rolls.

How does the T-front closure work?

A T-front closure is a special fastening mechanism; it consists of a T-shaped design where a horizontal bar and two vertical straps are connected. This closure allows for easy handling, as it can be opened and closed quickly. The T-design distributes pressure evenly so that the fly rug fits the horse securely without creating uncomfortable pressure points. The T-front closure ensures a good fit to the horse's shape, while also making it easier to put on and take off the fly rug.

Is the fly rug suitable for all horse breeds?

Yes, the fly rug has been designed to adapt well to various body shapes and sizes. It is suitable for both large and small horses, provided you choose the right size.

Is the neck piece detachable?

Yes, the neck piece can be attached or removed as needed to provide the horse with optimal protection.
