Did you know that...
the neck makes up a large proportion of the horse's body surface area and can therefore be relevant for heat loss? Especially in clipped horses, part of the natural insulation provided by the winter coat is missing there. A lightly lined neck cover can therefore specifically provide additional warmth without having to switch to a significantly heavier filling.

FAQ
When does a 50g neck cover make sense?
A 50g neck cover is suitable if your horse needs a little extra warmth at the neck, but a more heavily lined model would be too warm. With its light filling, it provides a slight layer of insulation and is particularly suitable for cooler, changeable weather conditions.
What is the difference between the 0g and the 50g neck cover?
The 0g neck cover primarily offers protection against rain and wind without any additional filling. The 50g version adds light insulation to this weather protection. It is therefore useful if your horse needs not only to stay dry but also to retain some extra warmth at the neck.
When should I use the 250g neck cover instead of the 50g?
The 250g neck cover offers significantly more insulation and warmth, making it suitable for cases where there is a correspondingly higher need for warmth. In contrast, the 50g version is intentionally kept light. Which version is appropriate depends on factors such as clipping, winter coat, housing, wind, wet conditions, and the individual horse.
Does the neck cover need to have the same filling weight as the horse rug?
No. You can specifically adapt the protection at the neck to your horse's needs. For example, a more heavily lined winter rug can be combined with a lighter 50g neck cover if your horse requires more insulation on its body than on its neck.
Can I use the 50g neck cover with different SUNRIDE horse rugs?
Yes. The neck cover can be used with all SUNRIDE turnout rugs and winter rugs. This allows you to combine it with different top rugs depending on the weather, so you do not need a separate neck cover for every rug.
Why does the neck cover have three attachment points for the rug?
The three clips connect the neck cover to the horse rug at several points. As a result, the transition between the neck and the back remains better covered even during movement, and the neck cover is less likely to shift its position.

Description
- 600 Denier Ripstop – robust for daily outdoor use: The durable outer fabric reliably protects the neck cover from the typical wear and tear of pasture and paddock life. The ripstop structure also helps prevent small tears in the material from spreading quickly.
- 50g filling – pleasant warmth with little added weight: The lightweight filling adds noticeable insulation to the neck, supplementing the weather protection. This is especially practical in cooler temperatures, when your horse needs more protection than an unlined neck cover provides without being heavily bundled up.
- 5,000 mm water column – reliable protection during persistent rain: The water column indicates the amount of water pressure the material can withstand before moisture penetrates. In tests, 5,000 mm corresponds to the pressure exerted by a five-meter-high water column. This ensures the neck remains reliably protected from rain and moisture, even during long periods outdoors.
- Breathability of 3,000 g/m² – moisture can escape: This value indicates how much water vapor can pass through one square meter of material within 24 hours. At 3,000 g/m², up to 3,000 g of water vapor can be released outwards. This allows moisture and excess heat to escape while keeping rain out.
- Triple Velcro closure – individually adjustable to the horse's neck: Three separately adjustable closures allow for a precise fit to the neck's shape and circumference. This ensures the neck cover sits securely without unnecessarily restricting natural movement.
- Triple clip attachment for secure blanket connection – stable connection that can be operated with one hand: Three attachment points securely fasten the neck cover to the turnout rug. The clips can be opened and fastened with just one hand, allowing the neck cover to be attached or removed quickly. It keeps the area between the neck and back securely covered, even when the horse is running, playing, or rolling.
- Compatible with all SUNRIDE turnout and winter rugs – flexibly combinable: The 50g neck cover can be connected to compatible SUNRIDE turnout and winter rugs. This allows you to specifically adapt the protection of the neck to your horse's needs based on the weather and required warmth.
- Reflective elements – better visibility in low light: Reflective details reflect incident light, making your horse easier to spot at dusk or in poor visibility conditions.
- Practical storage bag – neatly stored and quickly at hand: The matching bag protects your equipment from dust and dirt when not in use and ensures tidy storage in the stable, locker, or trailer. At the same time, you can keep the products compactly together and take them with you conveniently to training or shows.
