What distinguishes “Hook&Hold” from other systems?

With SUNRIDE, you don’t need to read up on which rugs are compatible with our system, because all of our outer rugs – whether winter rugs, turnout rugs, or stable rugs – are equipped with “Hook&Hold.” This means you can attach one or even two under-rugs at any time and without any effort. Is the “Hook&Hold” system compatible with rugs from other manufacturers?

Our innovative combination technology has been specially developed for our own outer rugs and under-rugs and is therefore not compatible with rugs from other manufacturers. This is the only way we can ensure that all parts fit together perfectly and function reliably – for maximum comfort and safety for your horse.

Why a fleece liner instead of a rug with integrated fleece?

A key advantage is the flexibility: with the fleece under-rug, you don't need to buy a separate rug with permanently integrated fleece. Instead, you can simply upgrade your existing SUNRIDE turnout rug, stable rug, or winter rug. This has two major benefits: firstly, you can remove the fleece liner flexibly at any time. This is extremely practical and helpful, especially in rapidly changing weather. Secondly, you can wash it separately and thus keep it hygienically clean. This is not possible with rugs that have permanently sewn-in fleece, as the entire rug would have to go into the washing machine, which is much more cumbersome and damages the waterproofing.

Can I use the fleece liner without an outer rug?

No, the fleece liner is designed to be combined with a turnout rug, stable rug, or winter rug and is secured using a simple fastening system (Hook&Hold). This ensures it stays securely in place, doesn't slip, and performs its function perfectly.

Can I also use the liner if my horse is slightly damp?

Yes, as long as your horse is only slightly damp, the fleece under-rug is a great choice. It ensures that moisture escapes while keeping the back pleasantly warm. This means you don’t have to wait a long time for your horse to be completely dry before putting on the outer rug.

Can the liner also serve as a replacement for a full cooler rug?

It is not intended as a complete replacement, but rather as a smart addition. The fleece under-rug supports the cooling-off process in combination with an outer rug, making the system much more versatile. While it cannot completely replace a dedicated cooler rug, it significantly shortens the time it takes for the coat to dry.

• Check for damage, loose seams, tears, or defective fastenings before each use.
• The rug must not be used further if it is damaged or shows signs of significant wear.

• Do not leave the horse unattended while wearing the rug, especially in the stable or in the pasture, if there is a risk of it getting caught.
• Do not make any unauthorized alterations or repairs to the product.
• Clean only according to the care label – do not use chemical cleaning agents, bleach, or solvents.
• Allow to dry completely after cleaning before reusing or storing the rug.
• Do not store or dry near open flames, heat sources, or chemical substances.
