Did you know that...
The horse's lymphatic system does not have its own central pump like the heart. The transport of lymphatic fluid is primarily supported by movement, muscle activity, and pressure changes in the tissue. This is why horses' legs can swell, especially during longer periods of standing. For this very reason, movement plays such an important role for horses prone to filled legs. A soft-fitting stable bandage can complement management, but it does not replace natural movement or veterinary treatment for pathological swelling. Conditions such as lymphangitis are inflammatory diseases of the lymph vessels and must be treated medically.

FAQ
What are stable bandages used for on horses?
Stable bandages are used to protect and provide soft padding for horses' legs during rest periods. Models such as the ActiveCare can additionally support management for horses that are prone to filled or swollen legs.
Why do horses' legs sometimes fill up in the stable?
During long periods of standing, the regular muscle activity that supports the return transport of fluid from the lower limbs is lacking. As a result, fluid can collect in the tissue, making the legs appear swollen. Movement is therefore an important component of natural fluid transport.
Can stable bandages support lymphatic drainage?
The ActiveCare was developed to enclose the leg softly and evenly and to support natural lymphatic drainage. However, it is not a medical treatment device and is not a substitute for movement or veterinary therapy.
Are stable bandages suitable for horses with lymphatic problems?
For horses prone to filled legs or slight swelling during long periods of standing, stable bandages can be a useful addition to daily management. In cases of diagnosed lymphatic system diseases, severe swelling, heat, pain, or sudden changes, their use should be discussed with the attending veterinarian.
Can the ActiveCare stable bandages be worn on the front and hind legs?
Yes. They are suitable for both front and hind legs and can be used according to individual needs.
Are the stable bandages also suitable for transport?
Yes. The ActiveCare can be worn during transport and provides additional protection against impacts and injuries to the legs.
Why do the stable bandages extend down to the hoof area?
The extended protection zone provides additional coverage for the lower part of the leg and the area towards the hoof. This can be especially helpful during transport or in the stable if the horse steps on itself or bumps into something.
Can I use the stable bandages overnight?
Stable bandages are often worn during long rest periods. A correct fit is essential. The legs should be checked regularly, especially during initial use or if swelling or other medical problems already exist.
Security Information
- Regularly check stable bandages for a secure fit and undamaged Velcro fasteners to ensure they remain properly in place.
- Always seek veterinary advice in the event of severe, painful, or sudden swelling on the horse's leg.
- Do not use stable bandages as a substitute for exercise, as movement is essential for natural lymphatic drainage.
- Check the horse's leg for injuries or skin irritation before applying the bandages.
- Clean and dry the bandages after use to maintain hygiene and material integrity.

Description
- Removable liner - flexibly adjustable and easy to clean: The softly padded liner can be easily removed from the stable boot. This allows it to be cleaned or dried separately. At the same time, the removable design enables flexible use and simplifies the regular maintenance of the ActiveCare stable boots.
- Promotes lymphatic drainage - supports legs prone to stocking up and swelling: Horse legs rely on movement for the efficient circulation of blood and lymph fluid. If a horse stands in the stable for long periods, fluid can accumulate in the tissue, particularly in the lower leg area. The softly padded ActiveCare stable boot wraps evenly around the leg, which can support natural lymphatic drainage. It can therefore be a useful addition to daily management, especially for horses prone to stocked-up legs or recurring swelling. However, in cases of severe, painful, or sudden swelling, the cause should always be clarified by a veterinarian.
- Protection against injuries - softly padded and reliably shielded: In the stable, horses can injure themselves when lying down, getting up, or by accidentally bumping into walls, partitions, or fixtures. The soft padding creates a protective layer around the leg and can cushion external impacts. The ActiveCare also provides additional protection for the sensitive lower limbs during transport.
- For stable & transport - protection and support during rest phases: The ActiveCare stable boots are suitable for long periods in the stable as well as for transport. In the stable, they are particularly helpful for horses whose legs tend to swell when movement is restricted. During travel, they provide additional protection against impacts and accidental bumping.
- For front and hind legs - flexibly usable on all four legs: The stable boots can be used on both the front and hind legs. This allows the application to be individually adapted to the respective horse and its needs, regardless of whether only individual legs or all four legs need to be protected.
- Additional protection for the hoof area - reliably covering sensitive areas: The ActiveCare offers more than just protection around the leg; it also extends into the lower area towards the hoof. This provides better protection for the sensitive coronary band against impacts, kicks, and accidental bumping. Especially in the stable or during transport, this creates a larger protected area, which can further reduce the risk of injury in the lower leg area.
- Quick and easy to put on - straightforward for daily use: Unlike traditional stable bandages, the ActiveCare stable boots do not require complex wrapping. They can be positioned quickly and secured with the hook-and-loop fasteners. This makes them particularly suitable for regular use when a uniform and time-saving solution is required.
- Includes storage bag - neatly stowed and ready to hand: The matching storage bag is already included. This allows the stable boots to be kept together neatly and stored safely when not in use.
- Soft padding - uniform comfort around the leg: The soft padding wraps comfortably around the horse's leg, creating a protective intermediate layer between the leg and the external environment. At the same time, it helps to distribute pressure as evenly as possible and ensures the boot is positioned comfortably on the leg.
- Sturdy hook-and-loop fastener - securely fixed and quickly opened: The sturdy hook-and-loop fasteners allow for individual adjustment to the horse's leg and enable the desired pressure to be regulated specifically. Depending on whether more or less compression is desired, the boot can be fastened tighter or looser accordingly. Since elastic inserts are intentionally avoided, the set pressure remains as constant as possible, even during extended use. There is also no risk of elastic areas stretching out over time and losing tension.
- Machine washable - hygienic and easy to maintain: Stable boots, in particular, regularly come into contact with dust, hair, and dirt. Therefore, the ActiveCare stable boots can be cleaned in the washing machine. This facilitates regular care and enables hygienic use even with frequent application.
