The waterproof lunging rug “Cornwell” was developed to ensure consistent training conditions, even when the weather is less than ideal. Especially during lunging work, the back muscles react sensitively to cold, wind, or moisture. The durable 1200D Ripstop material provides reliable protection against wind and weather while remaining pleasantly lightweight for unrestricted movement. Thanks to the combination of breathability and a fleece lining, the muscles stay dry, sufficiently warm, and well supplied with blood circulation—without overheating. The elastic chest closure and belly straps ensure that the rug remains stable even during large strides and changes of gait. This allows the horse to move freely through the back from the very beginning, rather than tensing up against external weather influences.

• What does “1200D Ripstop” mean and why is it important?
  1200D refers to the strength and fabric density of the rug, with “D” standing for Denier, a unit measuring fiber thickness. Ripstop describes a special weaving technique in which reinforced fibers are woven into a grid pattern. This structure prevents small tears from spreading, making the rug more durable and resistant to damage. These properties are particularly important to ensure that the horse walker rug withstands heavy use, such as during turnout or with horses that are frequently in motion.

• How is breathability ensured?

Excess heat and moisture are efficiently released while rain and wet conditions are kept out, ensuring that your horse remains dry and comfortable without overheating.

• How easy is the material to care for?
  Our rain rugs and winter rugs are very easy to care for and can be machine washed at 30°C. Cleaning is quick and uncomplicated. Please note, however, that repeated washing may gradually reduce the effectiveness of the waterproof coating. To maintain waterproof performance and protection, we recommend regular reproofing or the use of suitable waterproofing products.
