Is the “Hook&Hold” system compatible with blankets from other manufacturers?

Our innovative combination technology has been developed specifically for our own top and under-blankets and is therefore not compatible with blankets from other manufacturers. This is the only way we can ensure that all parts fit together perfectly and function reliably—for maximum comfort and safety for your horse.

What does 600D Ripstop material mean?

600D Ripstop material is a particularly robust and durable fabric frequently used for outdoor products such as horse blankets, bags, or tents. The term “600D” refers to the thread thickness of the material, with 600 Denier signifying high durability. “Ripstop” describes a special weaving technique in which reinforced threads are incorporated in a grid pattern. This pattern prevents small tears from spreading further, making the material particularly tear-resistant. These properties make 600D Ripstop material ideal for demanding applications and use in equestrian accessories.

Is a water column of 5,000 mm sufficient for persistent rain?

Yes, a water column of 5,000 mm is absolutely sufficient for persistent rain. A water column indicates how much water pressure per square meter the fabric can withstand before moisture penetrates. With 5,000 mm, the 50g turnout blanket reliably protects against heavy and long-lasting rain. In practice, this means that the outdoor blanket remains water-repellent even in intense rain and keeps the horse dry.

What does ISO certified mean?

An ISO certification for a horse blanket means that the product complies with specific international standards set by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). This certification ensures that the horse blankets have been tested in various areas such as quality, safety, and environmental compatibility. For turnout blankets, this could mean, for example, that the material is waterproof and breathable, that the turnout blanket has passed certain durability tests, and that the production methods are environmentally friendly. ISO certification gives customers the assurance that the turnout blanket is not only functional but also sustainable and of high quality.

How easy is the material to care for?

Our horse blankets are very easy to care for and can be machine washed at 30 degrees. This makes cleaning uncomplicated and fast. However, we would like to point out that repeated washing may slightly weaken the waterproofing of the turnout blanket over time. To maintain the waterproof quality and protection of the outdoor blanket, we recommend re-treating the blanket regularly or using special waterproofing agents.

How is breathability guaranteed?

The breathability of our horse blankets is guaranteed by the Ripstop fabric used, which features an air permeability of 3,000 g/m². This allows moisture and heat to escape from the horse while simultaneously keeping moisture out. This is why it is important that turnout blankets do not have a water column exceeding 5,000 mm. A higher water column would impair breathability, causing the horse to sweat quickly under the outdoor blanket.

Can moisture or heat build up under the turnout blanket?

Thanks to the high breathability of our horse blankets and the Ripstop fabric technology used, no moisture or heat can build up under the turnout blanket. The outdoor blanket allows for effective ventilation, ensuring that excess heat and moisture are released while keeping rain and wetness out. This keeps your horse dry and comfortable without unpleasant heat accumulation under the paddock blanket.

How visible are the reflective elements in low light or from a great distance?

In twilight and total darkness, the reflective elements of the turnout blanket are extremely visible—even from a great distance. They work on the same principle as safety vests for cars and thus ensure maximum visibility and safety for your horse. A phone flash or a mobile phone flashlight is enough to make the reflective elements clearly visible.

Is the neck piece included, or must it be purchased separately?

The neck piece is not included in the delivery and must be purchased separately. This gives you the flexibility to decide if and when you need it, and allows you to expand your turnout blanket individually.
