A lined neck cover complements the protection of a turnout rug or winter rug for the neck and mane area. This additional coverage can be particularly useful in cold, wet, or windy weather, as well as for clipped horses or horses sensitive to the cold.

Does the filling weight of the neck cover need to be the same as that of the winter rug?

No, not necessarily. The deciding factor is your horse's individual need for warmth. A 250g neck cover, for example, can provide targeted additional protection for the neck, even if the horse rug being used has a different filling weight. Rug fillings between 150g and 250g are typically considered to be in the medium warmth range.

What is the difference between a detachable neck cover and a rug with a fixed neck?

A detachable neck cover offers more flexibility. You can add it during cold, windy, or wet weather and remove it again in milder conditions. With a rug that has a permanently integrated neck piece, this area remains covered at all times.

Does the neck cover provide protection during prolonged rain?

Yes. The outer material has a water column of 3,000 mm and is designed for weather protection during outdoor use. At the same time, the breathability of 3,000 g/m² helps to wick away water vapor and excess heat.

Can I use the neck cover with different SUNRIDE horse rugs?

Yes. The 250g neck cover can be used with all SUNRIDE turnout rugs and winter rugs. This allows you to add neck protection as needed based on the weather without needing a separate neck cover for every rug.
