A 300g fill is one of the warmer options and is particularly suitable for cold winter days. However, whether it is appropriate also depends on the horse's clip, age, management, health, the weather, and its individual warmth requirements.

For which horses is a 300g under rug particularly useful?

It is suitable for all horses, but especially for clipped, older, very thin, or cold-sensitive horses. Horses kept in robust conditions with a thick winter coat, on the other hand, often require less additional warmth.

Can the under rug be combined with any horse rug?

For secure attachment via the Hook&Hold system, it should be combined with a compatible SUNRIDE stable or turnout rug. This is the only way to correctly use the designated attachment points.

How do I know if my horse is too warm under the rug combination?

Regularly check the area behind the shoulder and at the withers. The horse should feel pleasantly warm, but not hot, damp, or clammy. Sweating, damp fur, or unusual restlessness may indicate that the combination is too warm.

Why is a rug system with a replaceable under rug practical?

You can adapt the thermal performance to changing temperatures without having to use a completely different outer rug every time. Depending on the weather, the under rug can be added, removed, or swapped for one with a different fill weight.

Can the under rug also be used without an outer rug?

The under rug is intended exclusively as an additional heat layer under a compatible SUNRIDE outer rug and cannot be worn on its own.

Does the 300g under rug change the fit of the outer rug?

No. The under rug can be used without any problems with normal rug sizes. Simply choose the under rug and compatible SUNRIDE outer rug in your horse's usual size.
