250g fillings can help to significantly reduce heat loss at night? This filling creates a uniform, insulating layer of air inside the rug, which keeps the body heat released by the horse stable. This effect is particularly important during rest periods – for example at night or during long periods of standing – as the body produces less heat during these times. Can I combine the rugs in the set with liner rugs?
Yes, thanks to the Hook&Hold system, you can flexibly combine both the Dublin turnout rug and the Helsinki winter rug with up to two SUNRIDE liner rugs, allowing you to adjust the warmth level individually.
What is special about the Hook&Hold rug combination system?
The Hook&Hold system connects outer rugs and liner rugs securely and quickly. With a loop and Velcro fastening at the front and a clip system at the back, the rugs stay reliably in place even when your horse moves. This allows you to adjust the rugs flexibly depending on the weather conditions.
How do the fillings of the two rugs in the set differ?
The Dublin turnout rug has a light 50g filling that provides pleasant warmth on cool days without overheating. The Helsinki winter rug is equipped with a 250g filling and offers balanced thermal insulation for cold winter days and frosty nights.
How waterproof are the rugs in the set?
The Dublin turnout rug is absolutely waterproof with an ISO-certified water column of 5,000 mm, providing reliable protection against heavy rain. The Helsinki winter rug has a JIS-certified water column of 3,000 mm and is water-resistant, with taped seams along the spine.
Are neck covers included, and how are they attached?
Neck covers are not included but can be purchased optionally. Both rugs feature attachment rings and a clip system, allowing neck covers to be attached quickly and easily to provide additional protection for the neck area against rain, wind, and cold.

- 5,000 mm water column – reliable protection even in persistent rain: The water column indicates the water pressure the material can withstand before moisture penetrates. In tests, 5,000 mm corresponds to the pressure of a five-meter-high water column. This gives the material a high level of protection against rain and reliably keeps your horse dry even when outdoors for longer periods.
"Helsinki" 250g Winter Rug (1200D)
- 1200D Ripstop – maximum strength, long-lasting protection: Thanks to its special weave structure, this material is particularly tear-resistant and hard-wearing. It offers excellent protection against external elements like rain, wind, and dirt, while remaining durable and easy to care for. The material stands up even to intensive use, ensuring your horse is reliably protected.
- 250g fill – balanced warmth for cold days: This fill has been specifically developed for cold winter conditions where reliable warmth is essential. It effectively traps body heat and protects the horse from getting chilled. With its balanced insulation performance, the 250g fill is ideal for frosty days and cold nights, especially in wind and wet conditions. It provides the necessary warmth for clipped horses in winter, while simultaneously helping older, sensitive, or cold-prone horses maintain a constant body temperature. Combined with the breathable outer, it creates a comfortable, dry feel – even during temperature changes and movement.
- 3,000 mm water column – protection from wetness in changeable weather: The water column describes the water pressure the material can withstand before moisture penetrates. In tests, 3,000 mm corresponds to the pressure of a three-meter-high water column. Additionally, the seams along the spine are welded and taped. In extreme conditions or during prolonged rain, moisture may still penetrate at these points, which is why the rug is classified as water-resistant rather than fully waterproof.
