Is a hydrostatic head of 5,000 mm sufficient for persistent rain?

Yes, a hydrostatic head of 5,000 mm is absolutely sufficient for persistent rain. A hydrostatic head indicates how much water volume per square meter the fabric can withstand before it penetrates. With 5,000 mm, the exercise rug reliably protects against heavy and longer-lasting rain. In practice, this means that the exercise rug remains water-repellent even in heavy rain and keeps the horse dry.

How is breathability guaranteed?

The breathability of our horse rugs is ensured by the ripstop fabric used, which has an air permeability of 3,000 g/m². This allows moisture and heat to escape from the horse while simultaneously keeping moisture from the outside out. This is why it is important that rain rugs do not have a hydrostatic head over 5,000 mm. A higher hydrostatic head would impair breathability, causing the horse to sweat quickly under the rug.

What does 3,000 g/m² breathability mean?

This specification describes how well moisture (e.g., sweat) is transported through the material to the outside to ensure a pleasant climate for the horse. In this case, 3,000 grams of water vapor per square meter of material can escape within one day. This keeps the horse dry and avoids overheating or heat accumulation.

What does ISO certified mean?

An ISO certification for a horse rug means that the product meets certain international standards set by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). This certification ensures that the horse rugs have been tested in various areas such as quality, safety, and environmental compatibility. This way, your horse stays dry and comfortable without unpleasant heat build-up under the exercise rug.

How easy is the material to care for?

Our exercise rug is very easy to care for and can be washed in the machine at 30 degrees or by hand. This makes cleaning simple and fast. However, we would like to point out that repeated washing may slightly weaken the impregnation of the exercise rug over time. To maintain the waterproofness and protection of the exercise rug, we recommend re-treating the exercise rug regularly or using special waterproofing agents.

Does the exercise rug slip during more movement or faster gaits?

No. Thanks to the adjustable hook-and-loop fasteners on the chest area and withers, the exercise rug can be adjusted individually. This ensures it sits stably during all gaits or in the horse walker.

How well are the reflective elements visible in low light or from a great distance?

At twilight and in total darkness, the reflective elements of the exercise rug are extremely visible – even from a great distance. They work on the same principle as safety vests in cars and thus ensure maximum visibility and safety for your horse. A mobile phone flash or a mobile phone flashlight is enough to make the reflective elements clearly visible.
