Did you know that...
a well-fitting and high-quality rain rug can contribute significantly to your horse's health? Especially in cold, wet weather, a rain rug can prevent your horse from getting chilled and becoming susceptible to illness. A horse that is constantly exposed to damp weather can quickly suffer from skin irritation or even respiratory diseases. An outdoor rug not only protects against external influences but also helps strengthen the horse's immune system by keeping it dry and warm. This makes a good paddock rug not just a matter of comfort, but also a health factor that should not be underestimated.
FAQ
For which temperatures is the set with turnout rug and liner rugs suitable?
The 150g liner rug is ideal for the transitional period and mild winter days at temperatures of approx. +10 °C to 0 °C, and the 300g liner rug for cold winter days from about +5 °C down to sub-zero temperatures. The turnout rug protects against wet weather at temperatures from approx. +8 °C upwards. This allows you to flexibly adapt the warmth to the weather conditions.
How does the Hook&Hold system in the set work?
The Hook&Hold system securely connects the liner rugs to the turnout rug. The front is secured with a loop and a Velcro fastener, and the back with a clip system. This keeps the rugs in place even when moving, and you can combine up to two liner rugs with one outer rug.
Can I use the liner rugs individually or together?
Yes, the liner rugs can be flexibly combined. You can use the 150g or 300g liner rug individually or both together under the turnout rug to individually adapt the warmth to your horse's needs and the weather conditions.
Is the set breathable and easy to care for?
Yes, all components of the set are breathable and moisture-regulating, so that your horse remains dry and comfortable. The liner rugs and the turnout rug are machine washable and retain their shape and function even after frequent washing.
Does the turnout rug also provide protection in heavy rain?
Yes, the turnout rug has an ISO-certified water column of 5,000 mm, which reliably protects against wetness and keeps your horse dry even during persistent heavy rain.
Security Information
- For use on horses only and strictly for the intended purpose. Use the under-rug exclusively in combination with a suitable turnout or stable rug.
- Check all components for damage and wear before each use, particularly seams, straps, eyelets, buckles, snap hooks, and other fasteners.
- Do not continue to use damaged or heavily worn rugs. Replace defective or deformed fastening components immediately.
- Ensure the correct size and fit. A poorly fitting rug can cause pressure points, chafing, or injuries.
- Adjust straps and fasteners correctly and close them securely. Straps that are too long, loose, or incorrectly adjusted can pose a risk of injury or snagging.
- Check the fit and secure position of the rugs regularly, especially after the horse has moved or after prolonged wear.
- Regularly check the horse for pressure points, chafing, skin irritation, and signs of overheating.
- Adapt the rug combination used to the weather, temperature, housing conditions, coat condition, and the horse's individual warmth requirements, particularly to avoid overheating.
- Do not use on open wounds, skin injuries, or highly irritated skin areas.
- Do not use for other purposes, particularly as a travel rug, unless the product is expressly intended for such use.
- Do not make any modifications to the product that could impair the fit, stability, or safe function.
- Clean only in accordance with the care label. Do not use bleach, solvents, or unsuitable chemical cleaning agents.
- Allow to dry completely after cleaning before the rugs are used again or stored.
- Store in a dry place away from open flames, intense heat sources, and hazardous chemical substances.

Description
0g Rain Rug "Glasgow" (1200D)
- EasyLock – gentle on the chest, easy for you: This flat fastener can be effortlessly opened and closed with just one hand, making putting on the outdoor rug quick and uncomplicated. Its unique design prevents pressure points and snagging, ensuring your horse feels completely comfortable.
- 1200D Ripstop – maximum strength, long-lasting protection: Due to its special weave structure, this material is particularly tear-resistant and durable. It offers excellent protection against external elements like rain, wind, and dirt, while remaining long-lasting and easy to care for. Even with intensive use, the material holds up and ensures that your horse is reliably protected.
- 0g filling – expandable and flexible for every season: Light protection without additional weight. This is perfect for mild temperatures and is ideal for changeable weather or as a practical turnout sheet.
- 5,000 mm water column - reliable protection even during persistent rain: The water column indicates how much water pressure the material can withstand before moisture penetrates. In tests, 5,000 mm corresponds to the pressure of a five-meter-high water column. As a result, the material offers high protection against rain and keeps your horse reliably dry even during longer periods outdoors.
- With attachment for neck cover – flexibly expandable for extra protection: The neck cover perfectly complements the SUNRIDE rugs and covers the sensitive neck area of your horse, protecting it from rain, wind, and cold. It can be attached to the horse rug in no time at all using a simple clip system. Especially in wet and cold weather, a neck cover can help prevent your horse from cooling down, thereby reducing the risk of colds or muscle tension.
- Belly straps and detachable leg straps – for a firm hold and easy handling: The straps are individually adjustable and easy to open and close, making handling particularly simple. The leg straps are also detachable, allowing you to flexibly adapt the rug to your horse's needs.
- Reflective elements – more visibility for more safety!: The logo and the edging of the rain rug are made of reflective material, increasing your horse's visibility and safety. They ensure that your horse is clearly recognizable from every perspective at dusk or in the dark.
Under-rugs (150g + 300g)
- Noticeably light - pleasant thermal comfort without unnecessary weight: The lightweight construction rests comfortably on the horse's back and ensures that your horse is not unnecessarily burdened, even when worn for longer periods. At the same time, the insulating function of the under-rug is fully maintained.
- 150g filling - balanced warmth for cooler days: The medium fill density retains insulating air between the fibers, thus reducing heat loss through the body surface. This makes the 150g under-rug particularly suitable for the transitional period, cooler winter days, or as an additional heat layer under an outer rug.
- 300g filling - intense warmth for cold temperatures: The filling traps insulating air and reduces heat loss through the body surface. This makes the 300g under-rug particularly suitable for cold winter days as well as for clipped, older, or cold-sensitive horses.
- Coat-friendly - less friction with every movement: The smooth interior glides pleasantly over the coat and reduces friction at typical contact points such as the shoulder and chest. This significantly reduces matted hair, chafing, and hair breakage.
- Machine washable - uncomplicated cleanliness in daily stable life: After regular use, the under-rug can be conveniently cleaned in the washing machine. Dust, hair, and dirt are thoroughly washed out, so it is well-maintained and ready for the next use.
- Temperature-regulating - uniform comfort in changing weather: The 150g filling retains body heat without unnecessarily overheating your horse. Combined with the breathable construction, a more balanced climate is created under the rug.
- Moisture-regulating - less moisture buildup under the rug: Any water vapor generated can escape to the outside through the breathable structure without the smooth polyester satin having to absorb moisture. This keeps the climate under the under-rug more pleasant and less clammy.
The Set
- „Hook&Hold“ - combine flexibly, fasten securely: The under-rug can be quickly connected to all compatible SUNRIDE outer rugs. For a secure hold, it is fastened to the outer rug at the front with a loop and hook-and-loop fastener and at the back with a practical clip system. This way, the combination remains reliably in place even during movement and can be flexibly adapted to changing temperatures.
- Breathable - excess heat can escape: The air-permeable construction supports heat exchange under the rug. This means less heat can build up, and your horse remains comfortably tempered even with changing outside temperatures.
- Practical storage bag - neatly stored and quickly at hand: The matching bag protects your equipment from dust and dirt when not in use and ensures tidy storage in the stable, locker, or trailer. At the same time, you can keep the products compactly together and take them along conveniently for training or tournaments.
